We are now well into the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League, with some blockbuster semi-final ties to look forward to.

Thirty-two teams have been whittled down to four, each of which will have hopes of reaching the final at Wembley on June 1.

Holders Manchester City were knocked out by 14-time European champions Real Madrid in a dramatic last-eight clash, with Antonio Rudiger netting the match-winning penalty in the shoot-out at the Etihad Stadium.

The sides had drawn the tie 4-4 on aggregate after a 3-3 stalemate at the Bernabeu in the first leg, and Rodrygo's opener in Manchester was cancelled out by Kevin De Bruyne's equaliser. However, it was Madrid, led by Carlo Ancelotti, who are through to another semi-final.

Arsenal lost out narrowly to Bayern Munich, with Joshua Kimmich's powerful diving header proving the difference at the Allianz Arena after a 2-2 draw in north London.

Bayern, who surprisingly relinquished their Bundesliga title defence to runaway champions Bayer Leverkusen, have set up a mouth-watering last-four clash with Real as Ancelotti and Thomas Tuchel, two former Chelsea managers, go head to head.

Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain both staged impressive second-leg comebacks against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona respectively to confirm their semi-final spots.

Dortmund, overcame a 2-1 deficit from their first leg in the Spanish capital to win 4-2 at the Signal Iduna Park, with Julian Brandt, Ian Maatsen, Niclas Fullkrug and Marcel Sabitzer scoring the hosts' four goals.

PSG turned around a 3-2 home defeat against Barcelona to shock the Catalan club 4-1 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, with Kylian Mbappe playing a starring role.

Raphinha had put Barca ahead on 12 minutes, but Xavi's side unravelled after Ronald Araujo's 29th-minute sending off, and goals from former Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha had PSg 2-1 up with an hour to play.

Joao Cancelo hauled down Dembele on 61 minutes, with Mbappe slotting home from the spot to all but seal victory, and he doubled his tally with a minute of normal time to spare, with a drilled left-footed strike into the corner.

And so, Paris and Dortmund will face off in a tantalising tie that boasts some of the best young talents on the continent, and presents Mbappe with perhaps one final chance to lift the Champions League trophy with PSG before his departure - seemingly for Real Madrid.

Make sure you do not miss out on the action, with every minute, as well as expert analysis and reaction, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
